We all know that February is the month of Love and I'm sure most of you have fully planed for the Valentine's day. But have you guys thought of what you'll do and wear on Galentine's day?? Some people say that Galentine's day should be National Holiday, then again I thought do we really require a special day to enjoy or celebrate our besties/girlfriends bonding time? This is something we should do on a regular basis isn't it? So, if you are kind of last-minute party planner like me, here are a few quick ideas to do and what to wear on Galantine's day. However, like I said, Galentine's day can be all year round so these ideas is not just for 13th February, it can be anytime you need that Ladies/besties bonding time, whether you are married, single, engaged or dating currently. A Sleepover or Big Girl Slumber Party: I'm sure you agree with me if I say we ladies are never too grownup for a slumber party, but now off-course little different than your teenage time sleepover party, a big-girl version of old fashioned sleepover. Think of loud 80s/90s music with wine or pitchers of refreshing margaritas blended, stay up all night gossiping, order pizza and spend a giggly night of chick flicks. A slumber party without a cute PJs is no fun, so make sure you get a great PJs and a weird eye mask (who cares even if you'll not sleep, right?). Thanks to today's trend, you can even wear out your pyjamas with heels, so you don't need different outfit, in case you want to hit the club in the middle of the night. Pamper Yourself: Why not pamper yourself this Galentine's day ? Take a girls trip to a beautiful country side spa and indulge in relaxing beauty treatments like massage, facials, manicure & pedicure and so on. Or, you can even organise a Home-spa-day and offer each other manicures or makeovers with a bottle of champagne. What to Wear? Slip into something chic yet cozy outfit like ruffle jumper, midi skirt and trainers. If you are in the warmer place, you may go for an off shoulder ruffle dress with fuzzy slides. However, you may spend the day mostly in your inner wears and robe, so ensure that your bra and undies are comfy and sexy with lace materials and spandex. Girls' Night Out: Step out with your girls in Destiny Girls style. There is nothing really like letting loose with your besties you trust. Laugh till you cry or until your cheeks hurt and dance your heart out, even better if you stick to No-Boy-rule, and to make that night the most unforgettable time, you've got to dress like an "Awesome Me". Opt for an outfit that is comfortable to last through the night smiling and dancing, something fierce that empowers you and suits your personality. My Pick: Ignore the usual club all black outfit and go for something sharp yet sweet alluring blush blazer suit, statement earrings and killer heels, or a trendy statement top with a pair of jeans. Shopping Spree: Go for shopping with your besties this Galentine's day. Trust me it is one of the best ideas to celebrate Girlfriends time. Whether you go for window shopping or doing shopping spree, make sure you are ready to try on many outfits. Enjoy your time complimenting one another and explore the new trends on stores. What I'd Wear? I would go for something comfortable and easy to change your clothes, like a bodysuit with a frilled skirt or button-up skirt and ankle boots, so that you don't have to get undressed completely every time you want to try clothes on. You may complete the look with your favourite coat depending on the weather. These are just a few ideas to do and outfit ideas to consider if you are not sure what to wear and do on Galentine's day. You don't have to follow strictly to the above mentioned ideas. All you need, is to take ideas wherever you can and making your own. Galentine's day is all about spending your time with your girlfriends to the fullest, so think something fun, relaxing and wear bright, happy outfits. If you cannot make it this time, don't worry, start planning for the next one, like I've mentioned before we don't need a special day to celebrate ladies bonding time! That means we can celebrate whenever we want!! Thank you very much for stopping by my blog. Hope you enjoy it and don't forget to share us how you celebrated this Galentine's/Valentine's Day on the comment section. Love Ashon <3
If you've been following my blog, you should have known that I'm a sucker of rings! But tell me, is there any woman who doesn't like rings?? So here is another article about my favourite topic. Whether you are thinking to treat yourself this Valentine with a beautiful ring or you are looking for an engagement ring, here are a few thoughts for you to consider before buying it. Wondering how much you ought to spend on a custom-made engagement ring? Breaking out in a cold sweat just thinking about it? There’s some good news – it’s less than you probably think. So, How Much Should You Really Spend? You may have heard about spending a couple month’s salary on a diamond ring. Yes, that will get you a stunning custom-made ring. But, the last thing you want to do is start married life in unnecessary debt spending what you think is the average cost of engagement ring. The rule of thumb is to spend what you can afford, realistically. Make It Meaningful A custom-made ring is meaningful in so many ways, especially since it’s something you’ve chosen and helped to design yourself. If you’re on a tight budget, ditch the diamonds and find a more meaningful and less expensive gem and work with the jeweller to create a beautiful design. Avoid Borrowing Money for the Ring Keep in mind that once you are married, what’s yours becomes your partners, too. And that includes financial stress and debt. You want to give your beloved something special, but do you want to give him or her a massive bill? Unlikely. While we know it’s pretty unreasonable these days to think you will be completely free of debt before you get married, the less debt you bring to the marriage, the better start you and your spouse will have. So, if you do plan to borrow money to finance the engagement ring, be it through a credit card of the jewellery store’s line of credit, think twice. On the other hand, if you’re really keen to propose sooner rather than later and you just don’t have the funds, make sure you only borrow enough that you are able to pay back the amount in 12 months or less and no more. But, How Much Should the Engagement Ring Really Cost? This might sound like a cop out of an answer, but here’s the truth – an engagement ring should cost whatever you feel it should cost and what you can realistically afford. It really doesn’t make sense to begin your married life together owing exorbitant amounts of money, does it? So, if you feel that you need to spend as much as humanly possible on the ring and you can afford that six-figure bling, then go for it. But, if you feel two month’s salary is more than generous and your credit card is already crying out for help, you’ll need to face facts – you can’t afford that rock. The best thing to do is adjust your expectations until your financial situation improves. Don’t fall into debt before you get married. Start Saving for the Ring Whatever you do decide to spend, do thorough research. Buying the ring online often saves shoppers as much as 50 percent. Also, remember that the engagement ring isn’t all about size. Learn more about the 4 C’s so you know what you can push aside and what you need to focus on to get the most bang for your buck. As the winter's chill continues to rise, gearing up your outfits for the freezing temperature by layering brings a lot of style conundrums. While your instinct tells to grab that thick woollen blanket, part of you wants to look chic and as fashionable as you can be. Accessorising and layering in winter are quite tricky, too functional and you often end up looking like you've nabbed your granny's scarf and walked out straight from bed, too chic and you take the risk of not being warm enough. So the question we often ask ourselves during winter is how to look cool and still staying warm. Here are a few tips you may like to consider when dressing for winter. Have a Warm Base Layer: Layering is key when it comes to styling winter outfit, but you have to be clever with it. Keeping your base layer warm will assure you stay comfortable and cosy when the temperature drops. I often wear leggings and a camisole under trousers and a sweater. Thin yet warm layers close to your body does an amazing job without looking too bulky and it's great if you still wants to flaunt your feminine curves during winter. Wear it fully tucked like I did or keep it loose with your favourite winter leggings. Here are some great affordable light wool sweaters that are great for winter layering as similar to my look. <br /> Don't Be Afraid of Colours: Sure black on black looks particularly elegant, but why not try different shades like green, pink or bright blue and make your outfit more fun and out of the crowd all-black category. Opt for a coat or jacket that falls below the knee and sits close to your body, it's streamlined silhouette usually gives that elegant and chic look. Adorn with Statement Accessories: The main rule to look cool during winter is your accessories. While a beanie hat is the classic winter gear, don't shy away to experiment with different styles. A cashmere beret always looks chic or you should try a baker-boy hat (as seen on me) to give an edgy touch to your winter look. Nothing looks more classy than a great baker boy hat while keeping your head warm during chilly days. A statement scarf is another easy way to upscale you plain classic winter look. Bright colours and bold patterns are great ideas to start with. Keep your Feet Warm and Catchy: Keeping your feet warm begins with picking the right cosy boots like UGG boots, but here we are talking about looking cool while staying warm, so the warmest boots may not necessarily be the best option always. Ankle boots are a great choice because they work perfectly with many different styles from dresses, skirts to jeans. But, it doesn't have to be only black or brown, as mentioned earlier don't be afraid to play with colours and textures. These white ankle boots elevated my whole outfit to a complete new level, however if you are in colder places you may like to go for thicker platforms or soles. In my previous post Weekend Outfit Ideas That Will Take You Everywhere this Fall, I've also mentioned how versatile white ankle boots can be. If you haven't seen the post yet, don't forget to check it out. Lastly, don't forget that cool girls are all about staying true to themselves, so don't pay too much attention to trends. Regardless of trends, go for something that suits your personality and comfortable to you. Hope you enjoy reading this post.
